the house gave us a new slant on holidaying as for the first time we were not restricted to one room in a hotel and just desperate to get out and about. having a whole house to ourselves and so many facilities on site gave us so much more and we really appreciated the greater sense of freedom to do what we wanted when we wanted. we were far more relaxed and felt no pressure to be out seeking thrills & therefore we have more in store for our next visit although there were plenty of thrills that we tapped into, as this is almost mandatory with a florida holiday. regal palms staff were excellent and the food in the restaurant was above average and not overly expensive. nice bar especially on the ‘two for one’ nights and my son and i took full advantage of the offer. our whole family loved the pool area spending many hours relaxing & swimming, except for the wife who just manages to float with assistance(!) we found the travelling from the resort to the attractions was no great problem. my family thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and will be repeating this when lyn hits the magic 60. it was good to know that when we arrived at regal palms it was up to us to set the agenda for our holiday and not directed by resort reps to where they feel you should go. "a very pleasant surprise" finch4 ringwood, england value rooms location cleanliness we are a family of 4 from the uk who stayed at this resort for 11 nights. 7 of those nights with just the 4 of us, the rest with our friends from new jersey usa. we hired a 4 bedroomed town house from 'simon'. i found him through various searches on the internet. i would thoroughly recommend anyone booking directly through him. he is so informative & honest. can't recommend him enough. on arrival i was very nervous having read a few negative reports. however, we were all very pleasantly surprised. the reception area was very attractive and we were treated very nicely indeed by the staff. they showed us the restaurant and pool area and even though we had been travelling for many hours and it was dark, we were suitably impressed. in fact throughout our stay we had various dealings with many of the staff and i must say they were all extremely helpful and very efficient. we also booked our theme park tickets from them after shopping around. they were no dearer than anywhere else!! on our first morning we phoned through to say we didn't have a hairdryer and i swear that before i had even put the phone down there was a very pleasant young man with a hairdryer at my door. all i can say to people who found them to be rude is - you get back what you give!! now to the house - the cleanest place i have ever stayed in. it was spotless. i think the carpet was new, everything there worked and everything and more we could have asked for was to hand. i was very pleased indeed. it was so big - 4 toilets between us all is just wonderful. my friends kids had their own room and even though we had a huge master bedroom upstairs our friends had their own very nice suite downstairs. if you have a large group, this is definitely the best way to go. the resort in general - wonderful pool area and a real plus that they keep the water warm. 10 out of 10 for that. the hot tub was hot and the whole area kept very clean. we loved the fact that we could order food and drinks around the pool. excellent....!! the one let down is that they close the pool at dark which in december is at 5pm, so you could only use the pool if you didn't go out during the day. as for the location - we are used to the glitz and glamour of the more 'holiday' type location. this is definitely more residential and laid back. we enjoyed this different approach, but you must be prepared to drive everywhere. the supermarket down the road was excellent - that was a real plus. overall an excellent place to stay. i have no regrets at all. and i would thoroughly recommend simon as a very honest guy to deal with. if you have kids i can't think of anywhere more economically better.
